Because the worm shaft requires high comprehensive performance, the angle of the worm is processed, and the blank is forged. The total length of the part is 225mm, the diameter of the addendum circle is 44mm, and the blank size is selected as ①50×230

(1) The thread part considers the accuracy of level 7. Refer to the manual of machining technicians, the tooth surface roughness requirement is 3.2, we adopt rough turning-fine turning to processing requirements.

(2) ①30 shaft sections

The non-standard worm shaft is processed with the shaft section to match the bearing, and the cylindricity requirement is 0.004, the circular runout requirement is 0.012, the surface roughness requirement is 1.6, and the machining accuracy is high. The solution we adopted is: rough turning-fine turning- grind.

(3) Shaft section at p32

There is no matching requirement for this section, and the surface roughness requirement is 6.3, and rough turning is sufficient.

(4) 22 shaft sections in the middle

This section is matched with the coupling, the surface roughness is required to be 3.2, and the round runout is required to be 0.012, and the machining accuracy is required to be higher. The solution we adopted is: rough turning-fine turning.

(5) 6×24 keyway part

There is a symmetry requirement of 0.015, and rough milling is required for surface roughness without tolerance.

(6) The rest

The remaining part is free tolerance, the roughness requirement is 6.3, and the rough turning can meet the requirement.

(7) Heat treatment

In order to improve the overall performance of the gears, surface hardening treatment is required, and normalizing treatment is used before finishing after rough turning.
